Fundamental aspects of biotechnology focusing on multidisciplinary nature of this subject and its importance to mankind in various field such as agriculture, medical, industry and environment will be taught. Basic knowledge in biochemistry, microbiology, cell biology, and molecular biology related to various aspects of biotechnological applications will be covered in this course so that students are able to apply their knowledge for an in-depth study of their specific area of research interest in the future; while still maintain an ability to appreciate the broad area of the field so that they have a potential to create a high-impact research outcome.
